RALLY Jacksonville! and Mayor Peyton’s Book Club
Services Rendered
BroadBased worked with the City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Children’s Commission on Mayor John Peyton’s literacy initiative, a plan to make early literacy a core value in Jacksonville. Goals of the initiative included improving the quality of child care sites in the city and increasing the number of children who are ready for school at the beginning of kindergarten.
Chosen to lead the team’s creative initiative, BroadBased began by providing naming and tagline options for each of the two programs. The process culminated with the names RALLY Jacksonville! and Mayor Peyton’s Book Club.
Once that decision was made, BroadBased was put in charge of the design and production of the backpacks that each four-year-old in Jacksonville would receive – along with all the literacy tools packaged inside. This included books and book boxes, puppets, t-shirts, flashcards, bookmarks, blankets, cups and pencils. Twelve custom children’s books about Jacksonville were illustrated, printed and mailed to the entire book club membership.
