A popular business management book a few years back advocated that companies motivate their organizations by setting a Big Hairy Audacious Goal. We’re not sure that our Web designer, Sean Collins, ever read the book, but he certainly is following its advice.
Last month, Sean organized the first-ever Jacksonville art show celebrating facial hair. The Beards & Brushes Facial Hair Art Show was held Sept. 5 at the Bogda Gallery in Avondale, and BroadBased was one of the sponsors. It’s all part of the Jacksonville Beardsmith Society, founded by Sean in 2009. The organization has more than 70 members and is part of the World Beard and Mustache Association, with membership representing every corner of the world.
“It was a great success, with more than 42 artists contributing works and about 200 visitors to the show,” Sean said. “I hope it will be one of many events to promote our club, which has generated a good amount of interest here in Jacksonville.”
(We’re tempted to say the show was a sheer delight, but the term might make Sean nervous.)
