JaxKids Book Club prepares kids to read

July 19, 2018

BroadBased is now in its 14th year of proud partnership with the Kids Hope Alliance (previously the Jacksonville Children’s Commission) for the award-winning JaxKids Book Club, a free early literacy program for all Duval County 4-year-olds preparing to enter kindergarten. The Book Club continues as a summer reading program and features a new bi-lingual “I Can Read” book, a website and a Facebook page. Parents and guardians can register eligible children and receive a backpack of literacy materials that includes seven custom designed books about Jacksonville. Children who are enrolled in a VPK program DO NOT need to be registered—they are automatically registered for the Book Club with their VPK enrollment and will receive their books through their child care center.

Since the program began, more than 1.2 million free books have been distributed to Jacksonville 4-year-olds, and we couldn’t be more proud of the role that BroadBased continues to play the program!
