After transition year, BroadBasedCommunications acquisition complete

After a successful transition year, Chris Ramaglia has completed his acquisition of BroadBased Communications Inc. Ramaglia became a partner with Broadbased Founder Jan Hirabayashi in 2016 and has helped the firm grow and expand its operations. In 2023, Ramaglia acquired a controlling interest in BroadBased and began a year of transition with the company.

“I’m honored to announce that Jan Hirabayashi has officially passed the torch my way to lead BroadBased Communications Inc. into the company’s next era,” Ramaglia said in an email to the Business Journal. “I’m so thankful and blessed to work with such an amazing team and incredibly grateful to our clients for their trust and confidence in us.”

Ramaglia began at BroadBased as executive vice president before becoming a co-owner a year later. Previous to joining BroadBased, he worked for DiscoverTech, Time WarnerTelecom and Alltel Communications.

“Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for BB, and I know the transition will bring positive changes and opportunities for employees and clients alike,” Hirabayashi said in a social media post Wednesday. She added that although her role will be changing, she will continue to be a part of the BroadBased team.

“This is part succession plan for me and part business evolution plan,” Hirabayashi told the Business Journal in 2016. “I knew that I needed to find somebody in the digital world to take BroadBased ahead in the next 20 years.”
