Facebook makes an ‘offer’ your audience can’t refuse

May 16, 2017

Facebook offers a range of ad types that allow advertisers to diversify their Facebook advertising strategy. One of the ads that may work for your business is the “offer ad.” This relatively new type of ad allows businesses to promote a discount directly from Facebook, eliminating a step in the buyer’s journey. Instead of being directed to your website to claim a discount, a buyer can simply click “claim offer,” which saves the promotion directly into the “Offers” area of the user’s Facebook page. The offer even reminds the user to use it before it expires.

One of the other great features about the offer ad is the ability to use Facebook’s advanced targeting to get your offer in front of a very specific audience. One of our clients, La Fontana at World Golf Village, wanted to target snowbirds visiting St. Augustine with an offer that would entice them to come by and take a tour of the property. We determined that an offer ad with a gift certificate for lunch at the Slammer & Squire clubhouse would be the perfect strategy. To reach this specific audience of snowbirds, we were able to direct the offer to people visiting the area from more than 200 miles away. This ad has been incredibly successful, with more than 100 people having claimed the offer and La Fontana seeing steady traffic generated directly from this promotion.

“Our promotion at La Fontana was a great success,” said Michael Bugg, President of The Condo Group Florida.“We promoted to give away a gift card for Lunch or Dinner at The Slammer and Squire Golf Club at World Golf. The only prerequisite is coming by for a tour of our gorgeous homes at La Fontana. All they needed to receive the gift was to show an out of state Drivers license. Well needless to say we ran out quickly and everyone loved the site. Also, it has been so beneficial that when anyone in our area the Facebook Fontana ad appears on their phone. This is driving a great deal of traffic to La Fontana.”
